About the neighborhood

Bayou St. John

Bayou St. John is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in New Orleans. The neighborhood is filled with beautiful houses and a landscape of oak trees that are hundreds of years old. It has dozens of local restaurants, multiple coffee shops, grocery stores, drug stores, bars, and lounges, many of which are walking distance from the property. The house is walking distance to the Fairgrounds for Jazz Fest and horse racing, Esplanade Avenue, the Lafitte Greenway, and City Park. City Park is at the top of Esplanade Ave. and features everything you want in a park including an amusement park, the New Orleans museum of art, a botanical garden, Cafe du Monde for beignets, golf, disc golf, miniature golf and much much more! The area around the house features spectacular architecture and vast amounts of houses worth ogling. Bike rental stations are nearby as are the Canal and Carrolton Streetcars and the Endymion parade route. The Bayou, Bayou St. John itself, is only blocks away and offers a beautiful view of a classic New Orleans waterway. The iconic New Orleans cemeteries, French Quarter, and downtown are a short drive or bike ride— you can even walk if you're up for a stroll.

We know... that's kinda a lot to take in, which is why we provide a few lists in the unit with some of our favorite nearby spots!
